In connection with new labor law regulations contained in Act No. 323/2025 Sb., on the employer’s unified monthly report, as amended, we hereby inform you of a change regarding the deadline for employers to fulfill their obligation to register new employees in the employee registry, which this Act has introduced.
Currently, an employer is required to register a new employee in the employee registry within 8 days of the employee’s start date. However, effective July 1, 2026, a change will take effect whereby the employer will be required to register a new employee in the employee registry upon the commencement of their employment relationship, i.e., upon their start date, in advance, specifically up to 8 days before the employee’s scheduled start date, and at the latest on the day they start work, before they begin performing their duties. In the case of foreign employees, the new rule has been in effect since April 1, 2026, so new foreign employees must already be registered in the employee registry before they start work.
